Who handles your data

What data we collect

Account: name, email, password (stored encrypted: none of us can read it), language and your confirmation that you are at least 18.

What you write: profile, description, city or area, photos and videos, your animals, prices and availability, requests, offers, bookings, reviews, chat messages and reports.

Payments: if you subscribe, Stripe collects the card details. We only receive the subscription status, dates and a customer code.

Technical data: server logs (IP address, page visited, time, any errors), kept briefly by the hosting provider to run the site and protect it from abuse.

Why we use it

To let you use the site: account, listings, requests, chat and bookings (performance of a contract, GDPR art. 6.1.b).

For subscriptions, invoices and accounting (legal obligation, art. 6.1.c).

For security: anti-spam limits, reports, blocking and error logs (legitimate interest, art. 6.1.f).

For service emails: email confirmation, new password, alerts about requests, messages and bookings. You can switch off new-message alerts in your Profile, under «Email»; confirmation, password and subscription emails are always sent. We don't send advertising.

What others see

Others only see what you publish: pet sitter listings, requests and animals for adoption, with name, photos, city and area. Your email, password and private messages are not public.

A profile you haven't published (no listing and no request) is not visible to anyone. The person you report doesn't see your name.

Who we share it with

Supabase: database, accounts and photos, on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt).

Vercel: hosts the site, which runs on servers in Frankfurt.

Stripe: subscription payments.

Resend: sends emails, from servers in Ireland.

OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): turns the city or address you type into a point on the map. It only receives that text, not who you are.

OpenFreeMap: the map images, which your browser downloads directly from their servers.

Some of these providers are US companies: data transfers are protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

As long as you have an account. If you delete it, your profile, photos, videos, listings, requests and messages disappear at once, and your subscription is cancelled.

Only safety reports (no longer linked to your name) and the payment records the law requires us to keep for 10 years remain.

Read notifications are deleted after 90 days, all others after one year.

Your rights

You can see, correct, download and delete your data. You can do almost everything yourself: edit your profile in your area, and in your Profile, under «Your data», download a file with all your data or delete your account.

You can also ask us to restrict processing or object to it by writing to ciao@pawsa.it: we reply within one month.

If you think we are mishandling your data, you can contact the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it).

How we protect it

Encrypted connection (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, database rules so everyone can only read and change their own private data, and error logs without emails or keys.

Minors

Pawsa is for adults only. If we find out an account belongs to a minor, we delete it.

If we change this notice

We update the date at the top of the page and let you know in advance about important changes.
